On these how can I get in change such new looking cents and on the 69 and the 81bthe artist initials look off any help please
Although they are decent looking coins I don't see anything special about them, as far the circulation I find coins all the time in good shape some look like they never been handled. Next time you have a coin you want to post I would post it in (error coins, or coin roll hunting or coin chat)you might get a better response then here. JMO Dave
Howdy Joy - As said, you didn't really do anything "wrong" per se by posting this in the General Discussion section. It's just that the G.D. section is for posting about things that have nothing to do with coins. And, not everybody even reads that section. So anyway, I moved your thread for you to the Coin Chat section. You'll get more responses and opinions to your questions if it is posted there. Doug
Not uncommon to get good looking cents in change. A lot of people don't spend cents, get them in change and get thrown in a jug or something. Some roll them up and put them away. To most, they are a nuisance to spend and carry in your pocket as is most change. Then maybe down the road they get cashed in via rolls at banks or stores or coinstars. I have Lincoln danscos that most are circulated coins. If I get any older cents in change that look good, I will compare them with the one in my dansco and swap out if better. If not, they go in the penny jug.
There are pictures on the internet that show you the Large Date vs Small Date which is in the "2". You have a large date .. if that is what you are asking. We're not very good at reading minds ... unless you were asking if it is a penny, in which case it is !!
notice how the lower part of the 2 bows out to the left on the small. on the large the lower part is straight as it intersects the bottom of the 2, it is also thicker.
Not bad looking coins but just average. But i do like the look of the 99d. Remember they got to be very close to perfect if there circulated coins
The valuable 1982 D Lincoln Cent is the 1982-D Small date on a bronze planchet All the other 82 & 82-D's both large and small date are very common and not worth a whole lot. The 1982-D cent you posted was a large date. Keep looking and best of luck to you.
