Could anyone help me on these 2 coins. I know that the first one is an 8 reales minted in Mexico City and the other is a 4 reales coin but what are the values on these 2 coins because I don't have a krause book. Are they rare or common. Any help would be appreciated. Tom
The 2nd coin was minted in Spain and is worth about $75. The first about $25. Both are fairly common coins.
Tom: Nice coins, and it kinda makes you wonder what would have happened if they had plastic surgeons in Spain back then.
Very nice issues. No need to worry about their authenticity or value. You just had them ID'd by the "MAN"... GDJMSP is a pro when it come to 13th thru 19th century Spanish coinage. Take Care Ben
Very nice coins. Here is a website that has some interesting background information on all types of Spanish Silver. http://www.coins.nd.edu/ColCoin/ColCoinIntros/Sp-Silver.intro.html
