I just checked out the site that sells these floating frames and although they look brilliant but they state they use PE film, and if you google that you might find it unsafe for coin storage, resulting in green blotches on your coins overtime. A solution might be just to swap it out for thin glass like on picture frames.
Ah, but I'll bet few have a private pub that's so nice. I'm a teetotaler who's never had a drink in his life, but hey- I like that. Really nice setup. (I do have Irish ancestry, even if I don't drink.) Neat floating frame, too. I've wondered about using those. Gonna have to bookmark the listings. Thanks!
Won't work with glass... if you're worried about the PE film I suggest putting the coins in capsules and then letting them float away...
A little variation on my floating frame set up. I have some wall space in my office that I wanted to fill and this is what I came up with: I noticed these picture frames at the local $1 store had a really deep ledge. I picked one up, grabbed some Velcro tape and here we go: Using Velcro lets me remove the floating frame from the "ledge" easily, rotate it to see the reverse or remove the coin to handle it. I just wrote a quick paragraph about Claudius.. then a second paragraph with the coin attribution details. For a total of about $5 I think it looks sharp.
