Within the last couple weeks, PCIcoins.com has reverted to a GoDaddy parking page. Anybody know the skinny? Last capture in the Internet Archive was November 2017.
My plan to buy them out is taking shape? (see lottery thread) But in all seriousness, I don't know. It didn't look like they were doing much business lately (besides some Silver Eagles, I have seen very little in those new holders) and I imagine the current owner just pulled the plug.
Actually I don't think it's irrelevant. First off it's one of the search results that you find and second it's really hard to revive a brand once it's been poisoned. And it doesn't help when the ownership is totally opaque. PCI has been poisioned several times... the Beardsley/Slade days and the dreadful gold box, the signature labels where they didnt bother the experts to review the coins (nor pay them), the attempt to "revive" the green labels (thankfully they did a poor job and you can tell because the micro printing is a blob). You can say the same things about most of the secobd and lower tiers. INMNSHO that's why #s 1 and 2 are number 1 and number 2. It's not that they had fantastically better graders or a fantastically better product, it's that through luck or careful stewardship PCGS & NGC have avoided scandal that would poisiomn their brands.
