I found this and have no idea what it is

    It's a miniature copy of a St. Gaudens double eagle ($20 gold piece). They're usually gold-plated.

    What did they do, polish it, or acid-test it?

    I see these at shows for a dollar or two, I believe. At least you aren't out very much.

    Yeah, I can see them doing that, although I'm surprised they thought it was worth testing; I see these gold-plated novelties all the time, and I don't think I've ever seen one that was actual solid gold.

    I'm sorry they ruined it for you, but again, you should be able to replace it fairly cheaply if you want.

    I'm good I have a question earlier I posted a picture of a 1969 penny looks like mint condition too me but on the back it is missing the artist initials and read one sold for almost 8 grand can you hel?
