This arrived today. Not very photogenic but it is a very nice coin in hand. Nice toning. Very even. The seller's photo made it look even worse so I got it at a nice price.
Here is a Scottish penny I picked up of Alexander III. They get pricey & was happy to get it below the going rate. Alexander III (1249 - 1286 A.D.) AR Penny Scotland, Second Coinage Class MB2 O: ม ΛLЄXΛ(ND)ЄR DЄI GRΛ, crowned head left R: + RЄX SCO TOR VM, long cross pattée, with 24 points on mullets in quarters. Berwick Mint .99g 23mm Burns 45 (fig. 179); Stewart & North 14; SCBI 35 (Ashmolean & Hunterian) 231; SCBC 5054
Got this today, for my Eagle collection. I got a double deal on this one. 1) it only cost me $3.71 using my Ebay bucks. 2) Seller had it listed as UNC, but it's really a proof. It's still sealed in mint package, which is why photo is so bad. Coin is flawless.I'll wait until I pick up a 29mm capsule and take better photos out of the plastic. Germany 1971d 5 Mark, Albrecht Durer, Mintage 200,000
Picked this up. The coins are most likely going to be terrible but I got it for what it is, an awesome and interesting letter. Looks like it's from world war 2.
Picked this up at the airport. 2017 sovereign minted under license from The Royal Mint in India. The ‘I’ mintmark is visible above the date.
New pickups (along with a big pile of Canadian change, mostly face value stuff) today from a couple seldom-visited LCS: Canada - 1958 Prooflike Set (mintage of 18,259 sets) Canada - 2004 4-coin Fractional .9999 Silver Set (Arctic Fox) (mintage of 20,000 sets) Russia - 1993 25 Ruble (Ballerina) (mintage of 6,000) (note: I FINALLY got my hands on a ballerina!)
From the Heritage CCE auction a few weeks ago. Much-much tougher coin than the 20 or 100 Piastres in gold with the same portrait, especially without problems. Nearly all of the 50p have either wear or other "issues". The 500 Piastres is of course far more expensive, but actually easier to find than the 50 Piastres without impairment.
Been collecting since 1987 & not once have I owned 1 coin from Chile. Well I recently fixed that. Thanks to @H8_modern for parting with it.
Two new ones from this weekend’s show that are staying in their plastic. Korea has entered the bullion game And a relatively early panda
That one is from Tibet, right? Here is my coin of the day, just got here. 1822 British West Indies 1/16 dollar. Tiny little silver coin.
This are some acquisition that I sent for Auction to Stack&Bowers May Auction this may 14th. They are British India coins. -1918 15 Rupees -1937 Bikanir Mohur Princely States
Yes, Tibet 7-1/2 Skar. I am usually able to figure out dates, but have not had the patience to figure this one out yet. Somewhere between 1918 and 1926.
This 3 ruble came yesterday from Mother Russia. While I have a lot of bear coins, this one is better than most. I think it's a nice design.
Got this one today... You were right @Stork, I probably could have found a nicer one, but I’m happy with it.
You could, but it would have taken awhile and you would have spent more. It looks pretty darn nice. I was worried about the seller photos, but it looks like you got a very nice one! Here's the 100 yen I picked up recently...nicer than most raw ones and slabbed so I paid more. I can't tell you how many I've bought looking for one as nice based off seller's photos. So I sprung for the slabbed one (but not at too exalted a price). The cost of plastic would have saved me from 2-3 of the ones I bought that were disappointing. I have an addiction to the hoo bird coins! Usually the 50 sens, but I like the 100 yens too!
