I'm new to this, my father recently passed away and he was a coin collector he left me a couple of coins and I'm hoping someone can help me out to let me know if they're real or not. How much they may cost. Thank you so much!

From what I can tell, it is a fake of the 1878 goloid metric dollar. Many of the details are incorrect. My guess is that it cast from China.

    Welcome to Cointalk btw :)

    Hi Sindia,
Love the tatoo work on your arm, from what I see, welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear about your Father, that's difficult. I don't know if there's any real Goloid coins around, at least all the ones I've ever seen are fake, even mine. lol :D Here's some information for you! Edited to include pics and more information! ;) BTW, I guess there are some real ones, at least on ebay, there's 3 or 4. You can have yours tested if you want but it certainly looks fake to me. With that said, good luck!

Looks like both of the coins that you guys have were made from the same place. The fake details are the same.

Yep, must have been bought in the same time frame. I only paid a couple bucks for mine as I knew it was fake. But I didn't even know there were real ones until I looked on ebay. Ebay didn't have any a few years ago, when I checked! I'll tell ya' the bay has it all! :D
