EH up here we have lots of those Eh I live in Canada Eh. but better hang on to those Eh. They might go up in value some day Eh!
cool i will hold onto to em (eh) lol. seriously most are near uncirculated looking like they were minted yesterday they have been kept in a bandaid tin since they were brought here thanx for the advice
Well the 1966 Quarter is silver, so its worth bullion. The 1 dollar bills could be worth something, depending on what year they are from.
The 1968 10¢ and 25¢ could also be silver. There are 4 varieties of 1965 1¢ one of which is worth quite a bit in uncirculated condition. The $1.00 from 1954 could have some value if it is a "devils face" note. I don't see anything in the rest that would be much over face value. Bill
What year did the Canadian Mint halt usage of silver in regular issue coins? I thought it was around 1967 or so... Take Care Ben
The last year for .800 silver coins was 1967, however, there were some 10¢ and 25¢ in .500 silver minted in 1967 and 1968. The 2 bills in the scans are quite common and probably not worth much over face value.
-1919, and earlier coins where 92.5% silver -1920-1966, 80% silver -1967, some where 80% and some where 50%, You cant tell with these since they where minted to be the same weight -1968, 50% silver
A little more clarification: 10 cents: 1967 had both .8 and .5 silver versions. 1968 had both .5 silver and pure nickel versions. 25 cents: 1967 had both .8 and .5 silver versions. 1968 had both .5 silver and pure nickel versions. 50 cents: 1967 was .8 silver, 1968 was pure nickel. The nickel coins are darker in color and are attracted to a magnet.
Magnet The nickel versions of these coins will be attracted to a magent, the silver/copper ones will not.. Todd
