I have a 1965 Washington Quarter and it looks like a DDO&DDR combo. I need a little time, but I will post pictures soon. Has anyone heard of this? I couldn't find much online.

I'm lost on what it is. Here are the best shots I could get, I can't get the angle/lighting correct so detail is lost.

Well based on those pics I'm going out on the limb here and say DDD ( die deterioration doubling). JMO

NO... As stated DDD - Die Deterioration Doubling
Not a true Hub Doubled issue.

That quarter came from dies that were WAY over used. Try finding 65 quarters from fresh dies, they are quite stunning even worn down to fine.

Is DDD not often sought after?

Not IMO nor other's on here MD (machine doubling) and DDD ( die deterioration doubling) was considered a poor man's Doubled Die from my understanding they have no value that I'm aware of for them. JMO

The above evaluations are correct and there is no added value.

Like the others said. True doubling with value is actually on the die.

Rats, I thought I had something here. I guess I'm still having trouble deciphering between die deteriation and double dies. I read somewhere that the mints were cranking out coins in 65, so the deteriation makes sense, but I didn't think the mint would punch coins with a die in such an extreme state. This coin is all kinds of messed up.

Well, I'm going back to the books..

    Thanks ya'll!

    Me too brother.

We'll get there. Especially with so many kind and knowledgeable people on CT.

You see those heavy radial flowlines in the field? When you see that and see doubling it is almost certainly die deterioration doubling.
