1989 Lincoln cent, thoughts?

    I'm still going through a large pile of Lincolns and this one is interesting. Looks like some kind of mechanical doubling but the strike seems to be much bolder than other 1989's. I could not find much online so I figure nothing to it. Just checking with you folks before it goes back in the change jar... Thanks for looking.

    OMG, I believe your right furryfrog. It even shows the same Lincoln cent date as an example. The pic on the link you sent is exactly what I'm seeing even though I couldn't really capture with my pics.

    "The images below shows die deterioration doubling on a 1955 Lincoln (raised), Jefferson nickel (raised) and 1989 Lincoln (incuse)."

    I'm hopeless, if I saw that 1985, I would have called it MD or DDD.
