Hello CoinTalk community, I have recently had my NORFED Copper Ron Paul dollars seized in the Sunshine Mint raid of Nov 2007 returned to me. I was hoping I could now get these coins graded as it is not everyday the US government returns seized property. Are there any grading companies that will grade these copper rounds?

    Thank you

    Anacs grades Norfeds.
This may be an interesting topic, so I’d recommend starting your own thread.

Do you have any pictures? When returning your NORFED's, did they accidentally add a 1933 St. Gaudens in the package?

Because folks collect them in the best condition and the slab protects them.

I would buy some high quality “do-it-yourself” slabs, such as Lighthouse Everslabs. Sending a bullion copper round to a grading company is more than an overkill in my opinion.

A self slab is a good idea too.

There are some Norfeds that are rare ($100+), so having it slabbed by Anacs or ICG isn't a bad idea. And some people like collecting these slabbed (everyone has their own personal preferences).

I had to look this up, I had never heard about it. Very interesting, I only gave it a quick read. So it only took them 11 years to return these huh?

Perhaps if you can explain what you don't understand some here may be able to make it simpler. IMO, the coins are cool, collectable, artsy and well made, and a historical part of numismatics and government controversy with a limited mintage.

I have one that is in a plastic capsule. I have not bothered to have it graded. I guess because up to now I don't wish to. However, you have made me think about it and now I will. :D
