I picked up 100 $1 notes at the bank this morning and found the following. All appear to be in perfect condition, as if straight from the mint. I would like to find out if any of them are worth anything beyond face value. Thanks.

    FRB San Francisco, Series 1974
    L07239460H - L07239462H (three in sequence)
    L34629281H - L34629283H "
    L42201158D - L42201160H "
    L43841101F - L43821102F (two in sequence)
    L51409770F - L51409771F "

    FRB San Francisco, Series 1977
    L58594743E - L58594745E (three in sequence)
    L58741829C - L58741830C (two in sequence)
    L64408751C

First off, Welcome to the Paper Fourm!
Secondly, Congrats!! That was a nice bundle you found there.
In CHCU the notes you listed all go for around 4.50 to 6.00 each.

Not too bad for for face value exchange. And do what Daggerjohn says" do not spend em"!!

Thanks for the feedback. I had a feeling that they might be worth keeping, but wasn't too sure. I went to one bank, but they said that they were so short on ones, that they couldn't spare me any until a new shipment came in next week. Lucky, lucky me.:D Had to go across the street. The teller broke out four clips of 25. As she was verifying the count, I could see the new notes, but not the year. Expectly 2003 or later, it was nice to see that only the 1st 6 (broken sequence) were 2003A, the rest were the 74 and 77.

Thanks for the welcome. Is there a place where I could bone up on the lingo used on the board? Some accronyms I already know, but others, like CHCU, I need to learn.

Thaaaaanks, DJ. :thumb: But, truth be told, I was actually looking for something just a little more complete that I could try to learn at one time rather than lurking and looking over everyone's shoulder. But.... I will take what I can get. :D

On another note (pun intended), I've got 3 $2 notes if anything would care to see them. I've had them tucked away for 15 years or more.

    Series 1953 C
A76333808A red seal/SN - almost, but not quite, worn out.

    Series 1963
A00489926A red seal/SN - circulated but still fairly crisp, with quarter folds.

    Series 1976
L10411878A green - condition about the same as the 63.

    adelv,

Thanks for the link. I had no idea of COPEs. I do have a question though. When I checked out the link and read the information presented, I then tried to use the $1 chart to learn/verify your diagnosis. You said that my 74s were conventional, but my read was that they are COPE. Am I doing something wrong? According to the site:

COPE notes are listed in black and conventional ones in green.

Nice finds, go to any other bank buy notes give them a quick scan go back to B1 and swap, that way they still have the same amount of singles when you leave.
