Working on my coin Photography

    Thanks guys for the feedback and encouragement. I'm at a point now where I'm not sure I can get a whole better without a new lens. Using the Nikon F-mount on my Canon makes it hard to fine tune the manual focus. For now, I'm happy with the results and I'll keep working on it. Also want to get those Ikea lights!

    They look really good. If you can get a copy stand it would really help with the shaking. Macro shooting is really tough and your using a lens with an adapter too boot. You could also look into a Right Angle Finder for the camera and it might make it easier, you can get a decent one for about $30. I use Live view on my Nikon and it helps, I've been shooting for 40 years and it's still getting the right setup for coins in challenging. I use 3 strobes and a heavy tripod. Good luck.

    I think I'm going to try building a copy stand. My tripod is a medium duty so it can be a bit shaky. I'm shooting tethered to my laptop and that's helped also. I'm pretty happy with how it's progressing considering my limitations at the moment.
