I do alot of Penny roll hunting....I keep all from the 60's, all Wheat, and any foriegn, or strange coins.(Found a 1905 the other day)....Is there anything else I should keep, I mean I know there are some Double Die years (95 I think) Should I keep all 95's???? Then go thru them looking for DD coins?? Assuming you guys saved Pennnys like I do what would you do??? I dont want to miss anything good...I keep the 82's I find as I know there are different size dates, and someday I will sort them out...... I do nickels also, so feel free to give input on them also..... ...Thanks for any help on this subject, Tom Shaw
do you live in England? i think they use penny's. If you collect American coinage... you'd be collecting 'cents'
The four main years for the DD's are: 1955, 1969 S, 1972, and 1995. Here is a good place to go to to help you get some pics of what to look for. Also, along with DD's you can also look for RPMs, which that site will also help too. Best of luck man. :thumb: Phoenix
Thanks but on the boxes I buy from the bank it says $25. PENNIES, but I do thank ya, no im an ol Texas boy......Pennies, cents, its all the same to me............I just love the old Wheats.....My favorite coin.......
I would agree with everything said so far. Keep all pre 1982 coins. And just for the "Hey" of it, I would keep all nice and shiny coins after 1982. Just put them in a coin tube and maybe one day your grandkids will think you were the coolest person ever.
Yeah, I kinda do that too...Well thanks everyone..........Hope everyone has a great Christmas, and good New Year...............Happy Hunting to all............
When I lived in London we called them Pence....Never heard them called Pennies as we call them in the US. Talk about odd change, Pence weren't used much in change, but the two pence was.
Here's another thread with a nice fairly comprehensive list in the third post down (by chickenlittle): http://www.cointalk.org/showthread.php?t=28532 I'd only add that I also look for: 1982 DDR 1988 RDV-006 2004 DDR 2006 DDOs
i keep the 1959 and 1960 cents becuase they are the first couple years of the memorial, the 1961, 1962, 1963, 1965 and 1969 becuase of their lower mintage, all the S mints, any BU 1982 or older cent, and of coarse all the wheats. thats just something i do.
