New Philip II denarius 246 AD

    No, I'm not confused, I just thought you thought the coin was a denarius.

    A very elegant portrait. Sometimes you just have to sit back and admire a coin's style. Congrats!

    The coin shown in this photo is not as described in the text. Below is thee text coin.

    The face strikes me as more likely Valerian. The reverse figure has no cornucopia and looks a bit more like Jupiter. PACATORI ORBIS C. 145

    I recently got a Philip II as (at least I think it is an as) - a fairly scarce denomination for this kid, I believe. It isn't very pretty. It weighs 7.46 grams:
