Almost looks like a cent that was removed from an encasement. Especially in the last picture of the edge it looks like the edge is concave with both the obverse and the reverse sides extending outward.
I think that is just the picture. It's not extending out but the groove changes shape. The rim 180 degrees from this area is normal.
