(@Siberian Man - what does that say at the bottom? Hopefully not "the missiles are coming!")

    Welcome to May! :)

(Couldn't resist a little vintage Soviet propaganda for the banner, since it's May Day and all. Haha.)

To see how these things typically proceed, see last month's giveaway thread.

I have three lots of coins and medals I'll be putting up.

Likewise, my friend @dadams is putting up three prizes of US coins and currency. Thanks, Doug!

The deadline for entries is midnight Eastern US time on May 31, 2018. Sometime on or slightly after June 1st, we'll do six prize drawings: three for my items, and three for his. Each of y'all will have six chances to win a prize, in other words.

Here's what I ask of you in order to enter this month's giveaway:

    1. Please include the words "entry post" in your initial post to this thread. This enables me to sort out the eligible posts from the secondary commentary posts later, when the drawings are held. You may reply as many times as you like here, but each member gets only one eligible Entry Post for the drawing.
    2. This month, I'll ask you to post something - anything - besides just the words "Entry Post". Post a favorite coin picture. Your dream coin. A pet picture. Something witty. Something interesting. Something creative, like a little poem or limerick, if you're talented in that way. A great entry post won't improve your random chances any, but it could generate some applause! ;)
    3. That's all. If your number (the number of your entry post) comes up in the drawing at the end of the month, you've won a prize.
    The @lordmarcovan prizes:

Prize #1: a small ancient bronze coin (Æ13) of the Seleucid Empire, struck by Demetrios I Soter (ca. 161-150 BC). Obverse: right-facing portrait. Reverse: palm tree.

Prize #2: a US Mint National Bicentennial Medal, 1976, 1.5" diameter, gilt bronze, in original packaging.

    Prize #3:
a pair of copper 1-penni coins from Finland, 1894 and 1902. Both are in relatively high grade, and the 1902 is a slightly better date. Finland was under Russian rule at the time, so these bear the ciphers of the Russian Czars Alexander III and his son, the ill-fated Nicholas II.

(Ignore this post. I had to upload pix of the Bicentennial medal here, since I kept getting errors when trying to edit the OP to add them. They're up there now, but I don't want to delete this redundant post for fear of deleting the image attachments.)

Offering up my lifetime feel good photo. The old beagle that is camouflaged as a cushion for the beagle pup was the best friend I ever had. He was presented to me by the last little league ball team I coached. When this photo was taken the old boy was elderly, diabetic, blind and had Cushings disease. Sadly, his days were numbered.... Until the beagle pup made a surprise appearance in the family. Suddenly the old boy was rejuvenated and enjoyed a reinvigorated life for four more years with me. As is indicative by the photograph, these two were as inseparable as butter & grits...... I will always miss this old boy. And the pup? Well, he is my old man now. These two have brought me great joy. And this photo... Well, I have to warmly smile each time I look at it. Much love in this dogpile.

From my quick google search, the last word is "comrades". The first two words are an idiom roughly meaning celebrate. However, I am perfectly willing to yield to Siberian Man's actual translation. Entry post.

This is my constant companion, best friend, and mood elevator. I've had him since he was 5 weeks old and now he is 12 and in acute renal failure. I found a supplement online that has improved his condition and currently he is doing fine and hopefully will live a few more years.

There once was a dude named @lordmarcovan,
Who tries really hard to do all he can.
    He tolerates fuss,
