IMG_20180501_080312285_HDR.jpg This coin has major die scratches on obverse and reverse, obverse initials mostly missing ,the die scratches show through middle of vest which I find very strange, reverse looking northwest of initials looks like and image coming off the memorial, also not sure if there is doubling on E.PLURIBUS. Did they just not polish the die ? ziggy9 *NEC SPERNO NEC TIMEO*

Most likely due to trying to remove a clash from the dies

    common die polish lines.

interesting, but no added premium, imo

Thank you! One quick question. How do the scratches make it through the vest?

Because on the die itself, that area
is shallow (not as deep) compared to the rest of the
design of the vest, and that design area.

So the die polishing lines, in this case, don't
go further 'down' into the die; don't forget that
the highest points on the coin are the deepest
part of the die, and visa-versa
