I have a couple of 1982/pennies.I was wondering if anyone could tell if this is small or large date .
All large dates. You can use this for reference in the future: http://www.lincolncentresource.com/smalldates/1982.html
There is probably a lot more to this hobby than you yet realize, but one thing to understand as early as possible is that the hobby is yours to do with and experience as you see fit. If you allow yourself to get bogged down by worrying about what others think or collect, or how valuable a coin is to someone else, you're less likely to enjoy it as much as you should. When searching pocket change, all that really matters is if you like a found coin. However, when it comes to buying coins and paying collectible premiums, then it is very important to know exactly what you're doing and would be buying. The same enjoyment factor is still paramount, but it's very easy to get burned or to bury oneself when not possessing the knowledge to buy safely. This hobby is learning, and is something you could continue to do for the rest of your life without ever knowing half of what's out there. Look into different aspect or areas of the hobby to see what speaks to you personally, then make a serious effort to educate yourself. Ask questions when stuck or unsure, but be put your thick skin on before signing in. Although the shown coins go not carry collectible premiums, there's nothing wrong with collecting them and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Welcome to the forum, Bee!
Thanks very much .I do enjoy.collecting coins really I didn't realize how much I did ,I would pick up wheat pennies on the ground anywhere and was fascinated by how old they were and kept them and saved them so my.mom saw this and started bringing them to me now I'm interested in all different types of coins, what made.me want to start looking at wheat pennies is I was a cashier and a.lady came.in with a bunch of 2 dollar bills and I said I would like to keep these for my.children when they get older so they could see something from the past later that day when I was.leaving work I pick up and old wheat penny and started.collecting coins, a year or two after that I went to a hotel and found and bunch of world coins as it.looks to me under the mattress. I just want to know alot about all the coins I have because I just recently started looking into value and grades which I haven't before ..thanks for all the help ..Hope I don't bother anyone with all the post I truly do have a bunch I'd like to know more about
This, @Bee23, is an example of a "bother"..... https://www.cointalk.com/threads/mystery-1955-penny.315663/ Someone new, willing to learn and reasonably engage is altogether different and most welcomed.
