Hoochie Mama that reverse is sweet!!! I must be looking at too many US coins - I have a fair amount of world specimens, but usually only acquire them during my search for something else. I'm going to have to search for this one! Thanks for posting.

Updated 30 min. later: OK did a quick search, found 4 specimens, only 1 as nice as yours....the search goes on......

I am sorry to say I don't know for certain. It looks like a gaming token or toy money. It does not appear in Moore's Model coinage, and with no writing to go on it is difficult to track down - apart from Victoria and having Irish connections.
    What size is it?

It definitely has something to do with Ireland...maybe a token from a visit?

It’s 23.6mm so slightly smaller than a halfpenny and slightly larger than a US nickel.

OK - that takes out Toy money and unofficial farthings probably. If it was commemorative I would expect something written on it to give a clue, so my best guess is a gaming token of some sort. (The Irish being well known for their enjoyment of gambling...)
You might try the exonumia thread in Con Chat section if you haven't already.

Pair of 8 Reales from the Lima mint, 1805 & 1814. My new additions from the Central States show. Would call either one of them an MS63/64 in a heartbeat, though I doubt it's worth the trouble to send them back in.

PaddyB, most people who are going to do that wouldn't actually post in that section (I am not referring to the coin/token in question)......:D:D:D:D

Got this from eBay. It was listed as a 1915 UK Shilling. It is not a 1915 UK Shilling.

Some new pickups from the LCS today - interested to hear what you all think about the authenticity of these pieces:

France - 1719 Louis XV Token

    (Numista)
(This token weighs 4.5g and is 24mm in diameter.)

Great Britain - 1740 Half Penny

    (NGC)
(This coin weighs 8.1g and is 28.5mm in diameter.)

Great Britain - 1775 Half Penny

    (NGC)
(Note: according to the NGC page, contemporary counterfeits are very common. This coin weighs 6.4g and is almost 28mm in diameter.)

The 1775 certainly looks like a contemporary counterfeit to me - what is the weight and diameter? The 1740 looks more Regal.

Just added the weight and diameter for each piece.
