Does anything about your coin strike you as OBVIOUSLY different than the one in the link? And this has nothing to do with the variety, but is a very easy way to prove you coin is not it.
There's absolutely no reason to post a "reference link" of the same date or any other, no less to a proof (hint, hint), and simply because one has nothing to do with the other. It's also rather confusing to the reader... case in point.
"Wow" what? He's trying to help you learn how to research a coin. I did a 5 second research for circulated 1956 DDR the 3 second search came up with the Proof coin you linked too. he's trying to tell you to search a few more seconds to find something that is about the same, rather than the same year though totally different manufactured cent. the reference link is of a Proof coin. these are manufactured differently than on for circulation. There was no correlation there once you understand.
I simply wasn’t aware that because varieties exist that referencing any ddr Link for that year would be so confusing. My apologies. Are you referring to this link? https://www.coincommunity.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=279062 Which points to http://www.lincolncentsonline.com/1956 DDR-007 Photos.html Also, I included a better photo of the reverse.
I should have researched the correct ddr. Here’s the amended link. http://www.lincolncentsonline.com/1956 DDR-007 Photos.html
It would help you if you had some micro shots of the areas you are looking at, your coin appears to be in fair shape and any doubled areas would stand out. Micro shots would help your search and would help when you post for discussion.
For sure. I’m looking at buying a phonescope. The iPhone camera doesn’t display anything clearly enough.
iPhone cameras as quite good in the context in which they were designed to be used, but simply are not made for such a purpose.
