Well I can not see enough details. At the same time I can't say for sure it matches(obverse and reverse), but it looks like it to me. Hopefully you will better be able to tell when you get the coin.

there are no known examples the that die marriage.

translation-there are currently no examples of the obverse die in the photo being paired with the reverse die in the photo.

    this leaves 3 possibilities.

1] the photos of the obverse and reverse of the coin provided are from 2 different coins

    2] a poorly made counterfeit

3] a discovery of a new die marriage

    Actually there are 3 more:

    1] A blank planchet.

    2] A Heads...Heads coin.

    3] A Tails...Tails coin.

Looks like the obv of S-41 to me. Which obverse do you think it is CappedBustDimes? And while I will agree there are a couple of photo errors in the Breen Large Cent book, I think it works just fine for attributions.

I am hoping Eduard can get some better pictures once he has the coin in hand.

Mark, everybody, thank you very much for your help with this one. I was expecting the coin to come today, but it did not arrive (german post....never work overtime on saturdays).
I will post better pictures as soon as the coin arrives. I hope i am not dissapointed.
Regards and have a good weekend,
    Eduard

    Eduard, Mark and Everyone Else,

How about these re-edited pictures of the coin! I am sorry but it takes a little experimenting to get them to come out decent! You can see more of the "9" in the date now but it appears to be a broken "9" if that means anything towards Variety attribution.

From the look of the coin, it has had PVC problems in the past that have been treated!

Coin has arrived - new pictures

    Hello guys,
This coin finally arrived today. As there was some thought that this coin is a fake, i have taken pictures of it now on-hand which i will please ask you to look at and give me anew your opinions on. The coin is encapsulated (ACG) so i am not able to weigh it.
One of the arguments was that the obverse does not match the reverse. The reverse corresponds to S-41.
On hand it makes an overall acceptable, (nice) appearance. I would never guess this is not real. The surfaces are matt, dark brown, slightly grainy, buit not porous. Some pits and nicks are present as can be seen from the photos.
    Your opinions are greatly appreciated.

CBD, that appears to be a fault in the plastic, from underneth. It really does not appear to be on the coin.
