It is ...................... if you want to see it. An administrator can restore the website name if they decide it is OK .
If your site is noncommercial, then I personally don't see an issue with posting a link to it in one of the topical forums. Self-promotion for getting attention is a different matter than self-promotion for money (i.e., spam). I think it's OK if done tactfully and sparingly.
Easy on the sticky posts. LOL. But yeah, I don't see an issue if it's educational. (I only had a very fast peek at it.)
@lordmarcovan Couldn't @ilmcoins put that below in his signature? As you have your eclectic box of twenty?
My assumption is that the poster didn't read all of the rules ( second forum in the list under "Forums"). The contact email is XXXXXXXXXCoins @ g mail.co m and it seems to be your website as I assume you are the admin. It appears you might be looking for contacts info to use or sell ( its happened before by others)and your site users visits to raise your contact rates. If I am wrong, I apologize, but I am just protecting our members. You can put your business affiliation in the footer area like others if you wish or appeal to the site owners about using this site as an advertisement for yours. Jim
*ahem* That would be the Eclectic Box (... of 38! Way more than twenty since last year!) I don't see why @ilmcoins couldn't put a link in his signature line. I believe this is what @desertgem meant by "the footer area"? As to mining contacts to use or sell, I wouldn't have even considered that angle. @desertgem - I'm gonna need a lot of instruction on this moderator thing- I'm afraid I'm rather naïve about an awful lot of stuff. Gonna take me a good while to get up to speed!
Has anybody else tried using the lookup feature on that website? I did, and got no results. Mind you, there are no coin dealers in my town or county, but it should have given me results from the nearest metro areas within 100 miles (Savannah and Jacksonville, FL, in my case). If that lookup doesn't produce results for anyone else, then I think we've got a suspicious site on our hands...
I think all the Facebook scandals might have you paranoid these days? I am asking for feedback and actually received a note from another member highlighting a typo, which was appreciated. It is a simple coin website. I am not running Cambridge Analytics. In order for me to get anyone's info they would have to contact me directly through the email you mentioned on my contact page. Every other website I have seen posted here also has a contact page. No worries, I will drop the subject. Hopefully you will hold other future threads to this standard as well.
Perhaps you should re-read (or read for the first time) the OP prior to making accusations such as this.
Who's making accusations? I said IF the tool on your site doesn't produce any results for anyone else. Don't care for your tone. You're not on your way to making any friends.
We are practically virtual best friends!! I enjoy reading your posts and comments all the time! When I am referred to in the same sentence as something so negative it does bother me even if the sentence starts with "IF". The site is under construction and about 90% of the way there. The full functionality is not there yet. If you would like me to fast track Georgia so you get results, I would be happy to! Perhaps you could also recommend some shops and dealers that you visit in the major metro areas? Thats all I was really looking for in the first place!
Its not Copyright... not sure what it is. It doesn't tell you which MOD removed it and I have not been able to get an answer on what should be fixed to stay within whatever rule I broke.
Are you doing this solely out of the goodness in your heart with absolutely no financial incentive, ever?
No need to fast-track anything for my benefit. I do my buying and selling online (one has to, in a "numismatic desert"), and the only brick-and-mortar shop I visit is @Aethelred's WNC Coins, on my yearly NC visits. Good luck in your endeavor and the work you put into it. If it's feasible (and I know nothing of web design or programming), perhaps a variable-mileage-radius search tool based on ZIP codes in addition to city names might be good? PS- @Aethelred's WNC Coins shop is in the Asheville, NC, area, which has several other shops. So I tried "Asheville", then "Asheville, NC". Zero results. @ToughCOINS is in Rochester, NH, so I tried "Rochester" and "Rochester, NH". Zero results. So presumably no dealers near Rochester, New York, either? "Under contruction and 90% of the way there?" Are you sure? Nothing for "Portland" - in Oregon or Maine. Seattle. Chicago. Tampa. Zilch, zilch, zilch.
Yes, there is no financial incentive for me now. I dont have any ads. It is simply an educational website.
"Under contruction and 90% of the way there?" Are you sure?" Yes sir, I am sure. I mentioned in the OP there are about 40 cities in the works.
