Danny, thought you would have sobered up by now...re-read my post - there was nothing rude about it!! You hijacked this thread instead of starting your own. Your inability to figure out how this works is not our problem, it's yours - It's not hard!

You can respond if you want but I already exercised the ignore button on you.
    Have a nice day!

I really hope this thread can proceed as intended, it had/has huge potential for a 100 page quality thread over time.

In an effort to get this thread back on track:

Here is my grandpa's quarter collection that inherited when he passed. I got all of his coins which included a pretty full wheat set (minus keys), full Jefferson set, full Roosie set, full clad quarters, Sacs, and an almost full half set that were kept up-to-date until he went to the nursing home in 2001.

I started filling out the empty spaces in the half album and am almost 100% up-to-date now. I would like to fill these last 2 quarter holes some day as well.

One of the coins I got from my grandfather when he passed. Its not much, but it does mean more coming from a loved one.

no, he isn't. he asked you a simple question, since you posted in a thread about coins inherited from loved ones.

Have a set of common confederate notes passed down through my wife’s family. They aren’t spectacular other than they stayed within th family all these years..... They reside in a compartment in her jewelry box. And frankly, I am afraid to open the thing.

This is one of about 25 Morgan and Peace dollars that my mother passed down to me last year. They belonged to my great-grandfather and sparked my interest in coins as a little kid.

Pretty cool to have them all conserved and the best ones certified for future generations.

While we’re on the topic of Morgans, here are two that a family friend gave to me shortly before he passed away:

    I will never sell them.

Thanks, that's actually the first one I picked when I went home for a visit years ago and she let me take one back. I was convinced it was lightly circulated from the look but didn't know a thing about strike characteristics back then.

The Crown bag you see in my profile pic is not because I'm an alcoholic, but rather it is full of coins my Grandmother gave me before she passed away. She was a waitress/bartender and anytime she'd get something interesting as a tip or saw silver/something odd in the till she would put it in the bag. I know theres lots of super common stuff and just plain "not collectible" coins in there, but IDC. This bag started my quest to hoard every Bicentennial I see, and now I am expanding into actually participating in the hobby as a whole.

I was always curious about this piece. Could you elaborate more on this "spinners" or where you can find out more about them. How far back do they go date wise, how many are there? Are they silver, gold, copper, silver-platted? These are the types of questions I am interested in. Thanks for the information.

It used to be that when you searched for spinners on ebay all you got was these things and "you pay" tokens with a raised spot on one side or both. Now that people are obsessed with fidget spinners that is the majority of what you see. Some of them hold bawdy tokens that appear to be mating when you spin them. One of the most valuable of the bawdy spinners was two bears on the 1915 Pan-American Pacific issues. That is the earliest one I've seen but there must be earlier ones than that. In the case of that piece the tokens are rare and tokens with the holder are extremely rare. They may still be sold at jewelry supply companies. In the past I've found them with silver dollars - removed the dollars and sold the holder for the same price that I paid for both. Hope that helps you. good luck.

Brings tears to my eyes...Monday 4/23/18 my best friend that I worked with for 32 years called me and wanted to see me. Tuesday 4/24/18, I went to see him, Wednesday the 4/25/18 he died. The guy had saved my life and I had saved his life during our long time on the force. When he called me I knew that his time on earth as a living being was close to being over.....I know how you Jason..sad.:(

IMO this reply you made was rude and offensive. All PlanoSteve did was ask you a question. You owe an apology!
