Went to my local coin show this weekend. Wasnt really looking to buy but got chatting with a dealer who had some stuff I was looking for in the right price range. Wound up pulling the trigger on a 1900 lib half eagle. Didn't even think about it till I got home but it's a pcgs gold shield so it came with the true views. I've never been able to get even a decent picture of any coin so I was pretty excited to punch in the cert and see nice professional photos of my coin. The pictures are unforgiving but accurate (although I don't think they do the luster justice). Figured since I actually have a photo I'd share with the class lol. I don't really show my coins to anyone so opinions good or bad are totally welcome. I paid barely 10% over melt so I figured can't go too wrong, plus who doesn't like a new toy for the box!
Old gold, near spot, slabbed and TrueViewed. What's not to like? Finding images on the cert page was a bit of a windfall, I say. Nice pickup.
Testing myself, before looking up the cert. I will guess AU55. Spoiler: Now, let's see how I did... https://www.pcgs.com/cert/83920286 Aha. Nice.
Thanks for the kind words! I'm relatively new to the world of gold so I'm glad to hear it won't spontaneously combust if it jumps out of its coffin lol. Now I just have I resist the urge to take down the next piece of the collection... For now
