I know what you might be thinking and no, I do not plan on ripping anyone off or selling fake certifications. I am a food stamp collector. And I really want to certify and encaupsulate my notes. Obviously self certification is not ideal because It creates a natural bias. But I do not like the idea of my notes sitting without being displayed. What are these cases called? Where can I get em? And does anyone want to Join FSGS "Food Stamp Grading Service" lol
Yea I will post a photo dump on this thread with the tab still affixed they are the same size as modern currency Will submit shortly after I get home
How about an album style presentation? I want to share this webpage with you - https://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/he-harris-premium-currency-album-graded-notes.html
Thanks for the tip. I'd much rather have something hard because I don't enjoy the idea of the currency bending when turning pages..... Yet, I love how the have a spot on the right of the note where you can post information on the bill. With that noted it may be exactly what I will use if no other options present themselves. Thank you so much for the tip!
This is almost exactly what I want I just wish they had a spot for putting a discription printout on it. Either way that's all for your responses
Hey paddyman, just following up on this, I bought a scanner and have to pickup an old school USB a to b cable today after work and will post around 8-9pm central a dump of all the food stamp types I have. I am also expecting some vintage examples from 1967 and 1941 today or tomorrow. Those are the ones I am most excited for.
What an interesting collection! You know, it made me remember sitting with my grandmother on lazy days and her showing me books of food stamps she had saved during her years. She explained to me that in her small town, that when someone wanted to make a dinner, or a pie, or canned pickles, etc., that all of her neighbors would get together and barter stamps back and forth in order to have the ability to come up with all of the ingredients needed for their recipes. Gee! I wonder what happened to all of those books of stamps? Thanks, Penny Man, for giving me a beautiful memory of my grandmother.
Hi Jebocement, I think what you are talking about is WWII food and commodity ration stamps. Tlasch is referring to the food stamps of the 70's and 80's that were part of the welfare program Richard
Scan of a $5 and a $1 and a $10 forgive the brightness, this is a new old scanner Stay tuned for the Series 1967 set and 1941 notes
If your looking at displaying your notes the best way i found is to use a high Definition scanner and copy front and back and display the copies, you can Do this either already encapsulated or not, and you dont have to worry about your Originals getting damaged.
Essentially yes, once the rip tab is taken off they are about 1/8" shorter in width but I do not remove those
