HELLO RECENTLY CAME ACROSS A BRAND NEW ROLL OF 2018 D NICKELS AND SAW THIS! CAN ANYONE COMFIRM IF ITS A DDO AND DDR?
As paddyman98 stated it appears to be MD, also I don't know if you are aware but when posting all in caps is considered shouting at us. Lol Dave
Heck, for 5 cents I would keep the thing. May never find another the rest of your life. Stick it in a holder and keep it, or send it to me. LOL.
Looks like damage Probably from a coin wrapper crimping machine which damaged the lettering.. Not a Mint Error You should really create your own unique thread with pictures.
Ok I'll will try that. I found 2 back to back 3/4 the way through bu roll. While searching a box of BU nickels
I have one that resembles yours alot, dose machine create numerous coins with the same characteristics all the time I thought the single squeeze process was designed to lessen the number of error coins and how dose machine doubling happen with this process to start with here is mine notice the bay window on the second left side there is another window sill inside on the left,I've seen doubled die coins with alot less doubling than this and be considered a doubled die variation
I found one that resembles yours alot is machine doubling a common explanation for something like this ,dose machine doubling make numerous coins that resemble each other or is that a random occurence, and how dose machine doubling happen in a single squeeze process,I thought that's one of the reasons why they changed the minting process to reduce error coins from happening thanks
