1960 something lol

    So, would it be worth anything?

    Would need to see both sides. Weight on that would be helpful as well.

    If the weight of that 1st cent is 1.5 grams, it's definitely a split planchet. As far as worth, it certainly has a premium, but how much I couldn't say. Search ebay sold for split planchet Lincoln cents to get an idea. I'd guess from $20 to $50 or so. Having it graded would help solidify it's authenticity, but grading fee may not be worth it. I had ANACS do my nickel on a special, so it was $10.

    Okay, so I learned something about this error. Now the question. How does the planchet get "split"? I'm assuming there was an error during the making of the strip. Then the strip gets processed into blanks, then planchets. Am I close?
