    What a pretty coin.

I have been active on Facebook recently, and I get a lot of backlash when I say something the poster does not want to hear, or when a poster that obviously does not know what he/she is talking about tries to “correct” me. For example, I say a coin with a weak strike can have a high grade because the lack of detail does not mean wear, but then I am called an idiot because the lack of detail *has* to mean the coin is a low grade. I thought the same this was happening here.

    Did you mean: "dreck"?

What lehigh doesnt know, and maybe many people dont. Is if you look at toning under a microscope, it is full of little dots like that.
No. That term is for elitist snoots who dont realize 99.99% of collectors collect their "dreck"

We have has these type of threads here before, I am not sure why it concerns you so much that Lehigh should agree with you. I have found many of these prod type marks on coins. You may think that they are acceptable, I may not. This is why to each there own, they are able to collect what they like. I think that your peace dollar doesn't really fit into the tones that most Peace dollars follow, and am not sure that an in hand view of this coin would I accept that it is NT.
You like it and that is all that matters.

There's only one way to discover new information. Talk about it.
I may convince Lehigh one way, he may convince me another way, someone may consider an angle no one else does. Et cetera. Its how we all learn things. No one is born knowing anything.

The 1st thing i noticed when i was viewing this coin were the electric probe marks.
I knew it was possible, but i didnt know it was a thing, to zap coins. As @Insider would say- color me amazed:woot:
Sounds like a GREAT opportunity for someone to experiment on a couple BU Peace $ since they can be had fairly cheap nowadays. A stun gun, a cattle prod or a battery and wires. You could even try different types of batteries.
So...... Do we a have Bill Nye the science guy willing to try?

Why are you so concerned that Lehigh has to agree with you? All that matters is that you like the coin. Everybody can collect what they want to. It really doesn't matter if Lehigh agrees with you.

Only a moron would confuse the toning from electricity, even with other forms of AT

If this is a discussion between you and @Lehigh96 , then why bring it up in a publis forum? Is it not best to communicate with him directly and privately?

Does it bother you that much? I usually skip the posts that don't interest me. Sometimes I accidently open one. I just close it and go to another one.

Im sure im the bad guy despite apolgizing for A. Someone coming into a thread and throwing around knowledge despite not knowing what the topic was. B. Not being able to pick up on a joke C. Not knowing the meaning of a word.

Tough world to be a nice guy in. Glad I stopped trying decades ago.

mumu, I don't understand what you're trying to say. I see that you're obviously being sarcastic.

Each to their own opinion. If Lehigh doesn't agree with you, just agree to disagree and move on.

    I have "unwatched" this thread.

Idk man, toned Peace $ are sketchy to begin with. You posted carbon spots, toned spots, UNtoned spots and gunk spots as Proof that the Peace dollar you own is original.
Showing a few hillbillies playing around on You tube doesnt prove or dis-prove what you are arguing here....Seems to me , arguing it to death in a chat forum isnt the way to go about this EITHER. I like the guy from post #27 who suggested buy a few BU Peace $ and try the experiment yourself before you blow it off as impossible.

So we should never discuss topics? Just show off your recent purchase and wait for likes?

What originally started as a fork with Lehigh, got opened up when I noticed it confused other people. I brought up a valid discussion topic and no I will not try this at home. Those hillbillys experimented much more complex-ly than I would be willing to do.

Yes this topic has been done to death. But We are going to see a whole new toning problem soon and its a topic that should be discussed imo. (I dont think the dots have been focused on in the past as related to AT-ing)
