I think the doubled ear error is only on 1984 Philly coin (someone from here told me before). Also, I believe the doubling on the ear happens behind the ear lobe, you can confirm by checking doubleddie.com.

    84', 88', 97', and I believe 06' all have a doubled ear.
Some believe that the 97' is a die chip, or interior die break.

I don't undestand why people don't do 1 affirmative and 1 negation vote. Does it make people feel better when they vote maybe becuase there isnt a no option?

I think most newbs have no idea that most threads SHOULD NOT HAVE a vote option at all.

The 97 doubled ear is doubling. The doubling actually shows in the beard.

I know what the doubling looks like, But some say that it is a die chip because there is no other evidence of doubling or thickening of devices.

I am confused about what is being said I am aware of the different years like the 84 and 06 but clearly from my eye I see a doubled ear could this be a new find?

    Not from what I see.

Particularly on later Lincolns where the effigy is a caricature of the original, it can be quite difficult to identify doubling on the ear. If you're capable of doing a photo overlay with a photo of another example of the same date, I highly suspect you'll find a perfect match.
