I suspect people dont know the price guide price of a 1921 peace dollar in MS 64 with guesses like 450 and 505. You find us enough sellers with them for that price and you and I will be able to mortgage a lot of houses. Find us any Peace dollars with toning like that for half of price guide list and we can buy mansions.
I suspect this is the 1st colorful toned '21 peace any of us has seen. We are so used to guessing common dates that most were probably not even paying attention to the date and grade, just the type and color. I for one, know what a 63 books for, ($450+/- ) but w/o looking idk exactly what guide is on a 64. You ARE suppose to provide that in yer initial post
Did he say what exactly why he disliked it? AT?? Ive seen O mint Morgans with that peach and light purple, nearly mono color, never on a Peace dollar though. Also, looks like an electric probe mark on her neck Lehigh hasnt stopped by lately, he is probably in some high stakes poker game where BU Morgans and Quarter Eagles are used as poker chips.
I suppose you are right I did miss that part in my assumption that everyone knows what 21s cost for some reason, thats my fault. When I bought this coin I recall there had been a temporary spike in 21 prices and it was either 800 or 850 at the time in PCGS price guide. They have since come down to 750 now I beleive.
He's a limit player. Those little pots are like $80 on average Im pretty sure I saw he posted somewhere recently. But yes he thought the marks on her neck were electric probes and the coin was created in a frankenstein lab. But if you look at other toned Peace dollars they are very common marks. Look at my red Peace dollar before this one. They are all over the coin with exact characteristics. This particular one just happens to have only 2 together in a way to look like probes. I dont think a probe shock would A: create purple or orange toning. B: would not cause toning to spread to reverse. C: the coin has elevation chromatics, good luck getting a probe to do that. Watch some bars being probed on youtube. Youll see they have certain characteristics in the results.
I've seen very similar color on a 1921. A client sent me this one to photograph, it is also a VAM-1h struck with proof dies.
Very similar. Legit color IMO. And not color that electricity can produce. Again my red one has the same dots all over it. And its in an old fattie. They didnt even have electricity back then.
Sorry guys, Ironically I fell asleep at 5 this time after a long week. This one cost me $970...My top bid was 1500
As far as I’m concerned you stole it. Paid more for my type set peace which happens to be a toner 28. If you got tired of it or upgraded it’d look nice in my type set for the high relief
Wow!!! I've been in a slump for so long... Then I come and pick up 2 in a row? Here's a fairly recent pick up, some of you will probably recognize it. I bought it for it's unique look. I have not seen this coloring on a Buffalo Nickel before. It's a 1913 Type 2 Buffalo Nickel in an NGC MS-65 Holder. PCGS Guide is $350.00 and the NGC Guide is $365.00, what did I pay?

I'll say $325 ...under guide, but a premium above most coins in this grade for this date (and I can see it going for above guide to the right buyer).
