    Hello,
I new to collecting coins but had since enough about 20 years ago to keep coins from each year. I was watching coin videos on YouTube, so I decided to did out all the currency I've collected through out my military career. One interesting discovery I made was finding the two coins I've attached. I'm not sure if these are considered error coins but from what I've been learning I think they are. IMG_0256.jpg IMG_0255.jpg The top of the O and R on obverse are cut off. The reverse the T D and R are cut off at the top. I saw a simular coin on ebay for sale but even me with my limited knowledge know that that doesnt mean anything.

    What you have is DDD
    Die Deterioration Doubling
    Not true Doubled Die
    Not Mint Errors
    Just worn die issues

Forget ebay. Many of those sellers know absolutely nothing about varieties or Mint Errors!

Welcome to Coin Talk! But sorry, it's what was said above. And please stay away from You Tube which has been a disaster for this hobby. If you are interested in doubled die coins and want a good learning experience, visit www.doubleddie.com and set yourself down a spell for some good advice on what they are, how they are made and what to look for. And the best thing is, it's free, no books to buy. Have fun! Just click on the blue link I provided.

I think you should not hijack someone else's thread. Bad form. Also, your coin has a minor case of grease filled die. Very common in that area.

At the top of the page click on "Forums". Then click on the one that best suits what you are looking for an answer on. Add a short description on "Title" and then describe what you need to know below that. At the bottom you can click on "Add Photos", add your photos from your photo program and click on "Full Size" for all. Then click "Post". Photos are a must for any type of reasonable answer.
