Last box of Loomis halves - skunk. Did find 4 NIFCs. Spending more time lately on Presidential & Sac albums. Picked up 5 CWRs and 2 MWRs on my way to Houston. 2 of them were solid Uncs, Harry Truman (D) and Franklin Pearce (D). Figure a dumped collection. The other CWRs from a different bank yielded:
    (1) Calvin Coolidge (P)
    (1) Herbert Hoover (P)
    (1) 2007-P Sac
    (4) 2017-P Sac (Sequoyah)
The MWRs, nothing. Overall, pretty good as I needed these. Already had some nice Pearce, but they weren’t Unc.

Been through a few hundred of these myself and let me tell you, it is so hard to find coins that don't have any contact/bag marks in this series. Even opening mint rolls, they are dinged up. I would spend more time with this series if the date and mm were on the obverse/reverse rather than on the rim.

    Hello,

I've been putting a set of these together as well, and you are right. These are soo soft that they get scratched and dinged just by looking at them!

I have a very nice folder for these, but haven't started yet. I purchased a 2009 ment set but that's the extent of it. Does anyone have a link on verietys for these coins? And any pointers for this series.

From 2007 to 2010, there is an additional finish (satin) for the philadelphia and denver mints.

From 2011 on they were minted in NIFC numbers.

The lettering on the edge can be A type (upside down when the president's face is up) or B type (readable when pres face is up). This is a random result of the minting process and few collectors (that i know of) differentiate between the two.

This is from memory. Please correct as necessary.

I picked up two of those rolls from NF String and son, your know the ones that say whatever president is inside and they were plagued with bag marks. Most of them looked awful to be honest. I agree with whomever said they are "too soft".

Picked up $350 in CWRs plus one very old looking MWR with a wrapper I have never seen before. Anybody heard of Standard-Johnson Co. Brooklyn, NY? When the teller saw the old MWR he said “Oh!”, and looked at both enders. I could see tarnished silver reverses and kept my jaw from dropping. He kind of shrugged and handed it over as well. Got home and found it was a solid roll of 68-D in very nice condition (except for the tarnished enders)! I’m thinking they have been in this roll for a long time! Here’s some pics including a couple of the untarnished interior ones. Opened one of the generic tan wrapped CWRs, solid 71 & 71-D in circulated condition. Part of a collection? Will post results on CWRs later....

The $350 in CWRs were skunks! Not even an NIFC. Oh well, still happy about the 68-Ds. HH!

That's still a good catch. I'm currently on a four box silver skunk streak tonight. However, my wife pulled a 1972-D no FG and I pulled a 1988-P no FG. Also have a bunch of UNC 1994-P halves. Got a bunch of NIFCs, too.

I would not have. I like original bank rolls.

I would've opened it, especially because both sides were "dateless". I probably wouldn't have even been able to wait until I got home, and just unrolled them right in the car.

Wonder if there's any varieties within the roll?

I would've opened them faster than a kid at Christmas.

Yah, I never even considered not opening it, lol. I wanted to see if they were 64s. Even though they were not 90%ers, I was happy to see their condition
