    Just going through a jar of 1982-d pennies that I had collected from roll hunting. Was weighing them and came across this. 2.6 gr. thumbnail.jpg thumbnail-1.jpg S20180418_0001.jpg

    In 1982, the coinage changed from having 95% copper cents to the 97.5% zinc coated with copper. Some 1982's weigh 2.5 g (Zincolns) and some weigh 3.1 g.

    @Gunner1944
    There are 2 Cents for 1982
    The last of the Copper and midway through the year the Copper plated Zinc Cents were minted which weigh less.

    You mean the Copper weigh 3.1 and the Copper Plated Zinc 2.5
