1982-d penny

Just going through a jar of 1982-d pennies that I had collected from roll hunting. Was weighing them and came across this. 2.6 gr.

all the others weigh 3.1 gr.

 

In 1982, the coinage changed from having 95% copper cents to the 97.5% zinc coated with copper. Some 1982's weigh 2.5 g (Zincolns) and some weigh 3.1 g.

There are 2 Cents for 1982
The last of the Copper and midway through the year the Copper plated Zinc Cents were minted which weigh less.
