    If it looks different to you then it is probably plated.

    but if it's plated, then that would be after the Minting process.
    Thus PMD ... damaged

    It's in great shape the numbers are good,picture doesn't show,but why would it be like this?
    Found it in a coin roll.

    Maybe take it out and photo it without the flash. It's hard to tell in this pic.

    Does it appear to the naked eye to be plated, (like a silver color) and not a copper color?
    If so, it's just a keeper with no real value.

    Looks like Cooper under the silver,even on the outside of rim

    This one looks plated. I am not seeing any luster to give a silver toned look. It's a good reference for you in your collection.

    I got a plated one recently. At least it wasn't a small date, that would have been brutal.

    This Indian has a very silverish tone to it, but when the coin is turned a different angle to the light. The copper is RB. 1899 indian silver tone obv. (1).JPG 1899 Indian silver tone.JPG This is not lit the same and shows more of the RB IMG_0005.JPG IMG_0006.JPG copper underneath the luster.

    Some of the old Indians are cupro nickel and have a natural grayish color.
