Just noticed Sam C, that ONE Halves box is numbered; the other is not. I don't remember which had the 26 40%'ers...
As I said you only mark 1 in 100 as a sample to see what comes back, and with something benign and washable so as not to damage the coin. I don't agree with the person who red marked every single coin.
Just noticed something else guys; there's a NON- Hanging Chad on top of the box of Halves. Wonder if Gore is interested???
BTW, I recently found a marked '67 on the bottom end of a machine/bank roll - clearly visible without opening the roll. Maybe someone is hunting for pre 65's only!
Looks like the bottom box is 6206. I get those boxes when our local Loomis is running low. My location is 4297 according to A Loomis driver
Doesn't acetone desolve and remove magic marker without even having to rub with a q-tip? I have done this many times on halves to pull a really nice NIFC for my Dansco book. Actetone does no harm and does not remove or degrade toning
And the markers smell funky also - LOL. For the newbies lurking in this thread : don't sniff the acetone.
That is ridiculous and also why I detest marking coins. No reason for it. Enjoy searching for silver but don't ruin it for everyone else who isn't. Not even 1.
Where do I go for these half dollars from Loomis? Ive asked banks and small banks. They dont show up anywhere. I really love half dollars and would like to spend $500 on a box of them, but dont know where to buy them.
