Of course I will never be able to afford a item as beautiful at that, but if I could and it was sent to a company for grading and was returned like yours allegedly was I would have been more than upset. Bud and I are on your side for what it is worth. Good luck in your efforts for some compensation. :)

I'm happy to eat my words predicting no future updates. I hope you continue to partake in the forum, and am glad everything worked out for you.

I sent in 5 sets of 25th Anniversary American Silver Eagle Sets that I still had in the original mint box. These were sent in to anacs. I expected at least a few sets graded 70. Of the twenty five coins 6 came back 70. Two being the 2011 S. The rest were graded from 65 to 69. At this point I decided to never send in another coin to ANY grading company period. I will buy a graded coin but will never submit one again. To pay money for an arbitrary subjective opinion is ludicrous.

Based on your comment ... Isn't buying a graded coin paying for an arbitrary subjective opinion and wouldn't that make your actions equally ludicrous??

I have just submitted my first dozen of Australian coins that were carefully hand picked and magnified without a single blemish or dent on them but i have so much anxiety Im expecting PCGS to be rough with them, and even though they were sent to them in immaculate condition i know they will come back in a worse state. Ill report back here in a few days when i recieve the grades, but I am not expecting a great result! TBC....

Why are you guys sending world coins to PCGS? :yack: That's what NGC is for.

First, those are beautiful coins -- didn't know that Ukraine had such silver coins (are they annual releases ?).

Second, I read most of this thread and do hope that things worked out for you and PCGS.

Third, it appears that you haven't posted since April 2018. As some others said, I hope you do come back, contribute and learn. FWIW, I recently came into a 1915-S Saint-Gaudens gold coin with some black particles of dirt in them and while I was not as perterbed as you were (the Saint was already sealed, it was not a new submission and "only" MS63), I was still curious as to what happened.

I'd be very interested in finding out what happened with your coins. If someone didn't drop them, it almost looks like sabotage.

I would be curious to learn what ended up happening with the OP and PCGS. If they made things right, assuming they had evidence the coins were damaged in their possession.

I do like these zombie threads, plenty to learn from some of them. :vamp:

Did you take clear photos of the coins before you submitted them? ~ Chris
