My first 2018D LMC

Got my first 2018 LMC today from change. Also, wanted to use this post to show how lighting can give the effect of doubling. The first set I took with direct camera lighting from the top which gave it what looks like doubling on the both obverse and reverse. The 2nd set without the camera light (used desk lamp from the left side) and little angling of the camera shows reality

Shield cents are hideous. So poorly struck! Booo!

 

This is more like it! Well struck and made to last. A design that is a classic reflection of early modern America! Imagine the places this cent has been.

 

I have yet to see a Denver or a Philly.

 

Sorry for the outburst lol... Sorta cool to find the new 2018 coins. I'll stick to my wheat cents though.

 

I wasn't really looking for 2018s, this one had a real shine to it and I thought it was another 2017. I checked to see if it had any scratches and realized it's 2018. Now I want a Philly

 

Should it be LMC or LSC?

 

Oh yeah, hehe thanks. I'll never get used to the shield, I personally don't like the design. Wish they had used an eagle in my opinion.

I like the shield waaaay better than the memorial.

 

Why ? lol. I dk, every time I look at it, feels like I'm looking at a token rather than a coin. The shield reminds me of Captain America and that banner with ONE CENT...just seems lacking artistic feel.

I like the reverse design's on all the cents. I guess if you're truly an admirer of the cent then you can find something you like in all of them!

 

Yep, eagle sounds great to me, even though no one asked my opinion. LOL. That would be sharp though.

 

The Shield looks too generic to me. I'm old school I like the memorial. I guess that's the beauty of changing designs huh?

 

I have received a 2018 Philly, has a nice crack on the back, I will post it later today.
