Is there a name for this type marking on a coin? I see it on a lot of coins mostly around the edges. What causes it? Am I looking at more acid work?

The obverse of this coin is clean as are the edges.

Are you referring to the orange peel effect? (The kinda bumpy kinda wavy texture in the field caused by die wear.)

It looks like this coin has a few things---most of them all fit right in together..
A worn die, die fatigue, and just plain ol' wear.
