Lots of BIG coins in this lot. So far up to $5,100. Where do you think the hammer falls? I will say $8,805.
IMO, to maximize your audience for "rare" coins, Heritage, Legend or Stack's is where I would auction it as it would likely generate the highest bids.
Needs to be around $14k I’d say. The trade is about a $5500 coin on its own. Add another $3500 for the Morgan a couple grand for the quarter and half etc.
The seller is also limiting their potential customer pool when selling as a lot. There will generally be a greater number of people desiring individual coins than an entire mishmash lot. Thus an intelligent collector-buyer (with deep enough pockets ofc) will set a bid price based on what they are willing to pay for the desired coin, valuing the unwanted coins at their potential sales price minus expenses.
I bid $9000 for it, but a) it was under reserve, and b) I've been overbid. No surprise on either one.
Excellent prediction. Reserve not met at $14,105, which doesn't seem like an unrealistic "quick sale" price to me.
I think that used to be true. GC has been around long enough now that comparable coins sell for comparable prices. Also, remember that GC buyer fees are lower than the others. Top end coins on any of these sites attract the same bidders so why would they bid less for a given coin based on who's selling it?
I think anything over $14k is fair. It would probably realize more listing the coins individual. The trade dollar is the top money here then the Morgan
It's relisted now asking $15,500 or make an offer. Have to wonder how many potential buyers have been turned off by the first listing reserve requirement though. https://www.ebay.com/itm/222924818321?ViewItem=&item=222924818321
Because Heritage, Legend, Stacks actually market what they sell. They have viewings and the listings have write ups and often times have multiple pictures and sometimes video as well. There’s a reason why those three get the truly monster collections and almost all of the 6 and 7 figure coins
