Wow, Sweet find! How's the condition of the plastic? Hard to tell what marks might be on that but the eye appeal looks outstanding. I'll say MS65 and a real beauty.
Plastic has a crack as far as eye appeal is fantastic and again got it at a great price. The 3 spots on the obv,as well the two on the rev. is reflected light nothing to do with the coins surface. The face is silver teal color and behinde it the hair is a redish purple that fades back to a light teal blue. The reverse is about 3 degrees off to the left.
I am thinking it is in a MS 66 holder, but feel it is more towards the 64-65 grade. hard to tell from the photos.
I hate to break this to you gentlemen but no 1913 looks like that without help. It was dipped or polished at one stage and retoned. I'm not saying that should detail it. I'm saying it explains the freaky toning. This should be submitted to NGC or PCGS for the grade. These pictures are too indistinct to make that call.
If it's a PCI holder the holder in itself could produce this result right? I'll guess the holder says 63
Something is oddball. I don't know that much about those holders, so I can't say. That center part that's so "silverfish" on this 105-year-old coin is what's freaking me out.
I'm having the same concerns on the color, it's like nothing I've seen before on a Buffalo. However, depending on what holder it is in and how long it has been in there, that could be the reason for the color. As far as grade on the coin? It's really tough to tell, but the luster looks out of this world which is another tough one for a 1913-D T1. Those usually come with more subdued luster, this one is just screaming.. I'd say the holder says MS-65.
