I have this 2006 D penny that on the reverse about 2oclock..rim is in fine shape. Its right below the rim top of letters its like a sink hole . The cooper is missin and its hollow under the copper coatin. There other fine pin holes after lookin it over good they are hollow as much as one can see. Some said damaged. No it a defective core of the penny
Those would be plating blisters that have ruptured exposing the zinc core underneath that is rotting away. Whoever said damage was correct. Also, your picture is too blurry for anyone to really see any details.
First, welcome to the neighborhood! Your coin is what I refer to as a "Crappy Zincoln". Beginning in 1982, the Mint changed from a cent made of 95% copper to 95% zinc with a thin copper plate. They are very susceptible to deterioration and bubbles often form beneath the copper surface. You haven't provided a good close-up, but I'm pretty sure your coin is not a Mint error, just another crappy Zincoln. Chris
I'm going to say that that cent is definitely an error of some sort. If not I'm with you. "THE SINK HOLE CENT"
Its nothin to me. Wait till u see my penny that looks lime water lines that look like cartoon faces. There way kool
