Why copper tent?

    These 2 different nickles have a copper tent on both sides. What would cause this? Would they be classified as a error coins?

    They were probably left outside in the elements for a long time. I found some nickels on a concrete slab in a junkyard one time trapped in a pocket of moisture. Looked the same

    They look coffee stained sitting in a cup holder.
