Nah, coin purchases always include eBay Bucks unless it's under the sub-category of "Bullion". I'm not sure if there are other sub-categories that are restricted, but the vast majority of coins I've purchased on eBay all came with eBay Bucks. You can also buy coins using eBay Bucks, including Bullion, if that's what you're referring to.
No, you get them for most collector coin purchases. You don't get them for bullion. Sometimes they exempt coins from the bonus bucks
$70 is for me. Most came from a Barber dime i bought. What to do with the bucks....that's the real question.
You guys should use the Honey browser extension. It gives you 1% rewards without you having to do anything. So, if you spend $100 on eBay, you get $1 in rewards after about 60 days (time period req'd since you could just buy something expensive then refund it while keeping the rewards). After each $10 interval, you can convert them to eBay gift cards. That way, it's like getting double the eBay Bucks. So, I have $20 in eBay gift cards (code) using Honey, and $37+ via eBay Bucks (higher due to the bonus bucks promotions).
I can never find anything I really want that's in budget when there's a promotion or like now with ebay bucks to use up. Have scanned for hours and besides missing out on one I really wanted (my own fault, I could have bought it full price but I made an offer and someone topped it...oh well) I've found nothing of real interest in my budget. Should have just offered full ask on the one I wanted ahhhhh hindsight.
@IBetASilverDollar, I completely understand. I'd like to use my eBay bucks to find something for my type set, kind of offset the cost. I decided to take a little more time in my search rather than have the eBay bucks burn a whole in my virtual wallet.
Since my bucks are usually low, I buy ASE with them. Yesterday a bought a lot of 3 61.19-17.90=43.29 or $14.43 ea
I was hoping to find a new type coin as well. Best I could do was find an upgrade for my barber dime which is great and I love barber dimes but was really hoping to add a seated coin of some sort and just couldn't come across the right one. Nice to find a big upgrade barely paying out of pocket though for sure.
If you're not using Honey, then you're missing out on free eBay gift certificates. If you're spending money on eBay anyway, then it's free. I think their business model is that they "refer" more business to vendors like eBay, and in return they share a portion of the proceeds with members. I don't work for Honey or its affiliates. This is seriously the next best thing to free!
@iPen, I may have to check it out. I do have some trusted sellers I buy from on eBay. I mostly buy my bullion coin for my Dansco's though on eBay.
BTW, that Liberty Head Eagle in your Avatar is sick! The reverse looks PL or better from the pics. How's the obverse?
That coin is the perfect example of my priority order for coins. The surfaces are pretty baggy for the grade but the eye appeal and luster are off the charts which for me beyond makes up for a few extra marks, it's one of my favorites. PCGS MS64 OGH Also my avi is my own image it makes it look way more mirrored, it's semi-PL I'd say but definitely not full PL or close to it. Reverse cartwheels like crazy super lustrous.
@IBetASilverDollar, It's a beauty. I like your thinking. If I had any coin photography skills, I'd re-image this coin. The luster is strong and the contact marks are not distracting in hand. FWIW, the gold double eagle reverse is one of my favorite designs of all. 1904 MS64 CAC by jpcienkus posted Jan 16, 2018 at 9:45 PM 1904 MS64 CAC reverse by jpcienkus posted Jan 16, 2018 at 9:45 PM I just added the following coin to my collection. Yes I love the $20 lib reverse as well. I'm one of the few people who likes the Liberty Head series more than the Indian Head/St. Gaudens series. The $10 lib is one of if not my favorite coin.
I had $104 in eBay bucks. Bought a $150 cleaned DDO half dime to get the competition off the market. I have the only other one that I'm about to list, and want to remove the competition because IMO he had it way underpriced, even for a cleaned coin.
Agreed - only 1% eBay$ on regular purchases - that's why I always buy something each month to qualify for the 8+% bonus bucks offers - that's when I make larger purchases and rake in the bonus bucks - I use the eBay bucks for silver art bars and such - it's 'house money', so I don't mind overpaying by a few dollars.
The problem with the "bonus bucks" is not everybody gets them. I used to get them on a regular basis and now I seldom do. I've heard that some people never get them.
I used my ~$74 to buy a 1945 S Merc Dime that is a nicely toned and MS67. Can't wait to get it in hand.
