If the scratches on the obverse are on the slab case I would say MS65 if not i would say MS63!

I don't know how you can grade a cleaned coin, but it sure has a lot of die cracks every where!Nice VAM! Thanks for sharing

The lighting makes this one harder, but I don’t see any cleaning or major issues. Looks like a 63-64 Morgan.....I’ll give it the benefit and say MS 64

Because of the strong strike (atypical of New Orleans) I'll go 64.

I'm going to say MS63. I think it has a few too many marks to go any higher. I love the die cracks!!!

I don't see any evidence of cleaning in the photo. Why do you think it was cleaned?
1881-O Morgan's typically have nicer strikes.

Nice job to all those who guessed MS63 :). I think that the coin got bumped down due to the obverse because the reverse is impeccable.

Also the die cracks on it are awesome. They look even better in hand.

What is the weight on morgans. A friend of mine gave me one, 1893 p and it weights 19.6. That dosnt sound right.

    I agree with the grade.

The reverse never really helps a grade. It usually only hurts. Due to all the very visible obverse contact marks in the fields and on the devices, I think it graded properly. I do agree the reverse is pretty clean and it looks to still have nice luster.

It’s also a clashed die (I noticed when I took a closer look at it). The images don’t show it well but it’s still visible. Look at the bottom right of the head on the obverse and where the wreath meets the eagle’s wings on the reverse.

I think it might be a cool VAM.
