1943 Rust?

    What besides rust would cause this coloration. The coin seems like a normal penny underneath and not coarse like rust, though I am guessing it still is just that.

    Still, Some cool cracks underneath on the obverse side.

    P.S. To those who helped me get better pictures in the past. Thank you. I have been working on it.

    1943 cents are steel, not a copper based cent, so they do rust. The zinc coating wears away, and rust can form on the coin.

    If you are referring to those diagonal lines, they look like scratches on the coin to me.

    Yes... probably from a lot of O2 and moisture, and a good helping of transverse magneto energy surging through it. Though, I can't really remember...
