1990 nickel error?

    Found this in a box of nickels. Can anyone tell me about it and if it's worth more then face value?

    Simple.. Environmental Damage
    Your Nickel was affected by exposure to soil, dirt, sand and the elements.
    Not a Mint Error and only worth 5 Cents

    I metal detect and have found many examples of dark colored nickels -
