I captured an interesting "coin" this weekend that I did not expect would really be in my collection. I focus on The Roman Republic and those entities that interacted with them... As a side collection, I am getting as many of the Roman Rulers that I can so that I can build a Roman History collection for my Grandkids. I now have 150 [EDIT 151] of the Roman Rulers out of a "possible" 214... the list is always subject to scrutiny and/or change, but has been fun to fill. (I update the RIC Rarity list - yeah, that is no longer accurate - based on discussions here as well as some researches. I have added several provincials or possible Rulers that have coins. Hence, 214 Rulers, and no, the control #16 ANONYMOUS does not count.) Here are a couple of my latest. I normally do not collect the Levant area, however, this one attracted my eye because of the cool detail that I do not see too often in Prutahs. Decent price, great and trusted seller, BOOM! Mine: Judaea, Roman Administration (Procuratorial). Claudius, with Britannicus. AD 41-54. Æ Prutah 17 mm. 2.8 gm. Struck under Antonius Felix, procurator Augusti. Dated RY 14 (54 CE). Obv: Two crossed shields over two crossed spears Rev: Palm tree; BPIT above, K AI below; L IΔ (date) across field. RPC 4971; Meshorer 340; Hendin 1348 I like the Sheilds with Boss detail. Got this one from Frank ( I have always liked his Auctions!) Won at a decent price and it filled a Roman Ruler... That's a beautiful Hendin 1348, @Alegandron ! It's one of the nicest I've seen. The detail on the shield and the lettering are very clear. Anyway, here's the best of mine. Thanks for posting!
@Alegandron Very nice additions. I just don't know enough about the Prutah of Judea under Roman rule to really dive into it. Your example is nice because it has clear devices and nice legends. The Domitia is a reminder that I need one of her issues as well. Great pick ups.
