    Three legged buffaloes were a result of an over abraded die, the one you posted, although missing the hoof on his right front leg, is most likely what Chris said. A clogged or filled die. It looks like it also extends towards the rim through E P U. could you post some more photos with different lighting?

    My favorite 2005 Buff is a proof in a single-coin Capital Plastics holder that was signed by the designer of the Buff reverse on a Avery label that is also encased in the Capital holder. I got it at a Chicago ANA show. I have another one of the "here's looking at you" obverse, because it's the same designer.
